Arc 00
Arc 00 spans roughly two centuries of foundational history, beginning 500 years ago in the Middle Lands. During the height of the Dragon Wars, the solitary mage Lyne stands isolated in her tower, powerless to halt the devastation. A young blue dragon named Max appears and proposes dual leadership as a path to peace, conveying his father’s hope that Lyne can end the conflict. In the years that follow, Lyne travels to the Human Realm, begins instructing the young sisters Kira and Lira in Elyasia’s history, laws, and the linked realms (including their differing flows of time), and gradually helps establish the dual structure of Northern and Southern rule that will preserve harmony.
Across the subsequent decades the story settles into the daily lives of the growing royal households. In the Southern Lands, the fox demon Akito becomes Kira’s devoted (and possessive) personal guard, his feelings deepening beyond duty while he remains largely unaware of them. Lira gains her own companions and a second guard; the sisters study together, explore the Demon Realm’s territories with the half-fox mage June, and navigate the quiet tensions of court life. Meanwhile Lyne continues her research into Elyasia’s unique magic—final wishes of the dead, dragons, and the birth of twins from a mother’s longing—while Rain confronts a dangerous Spirit Portal in the North and the mountains receive their names (Mont Sin and Mont Heei).
By 304 years ago the dual system is firmly in place. Kira is pregnant with her first child (a girl, a secret Lyne has shared only with her), the castles prepare nurseries with the family’s preferred gothic touches, and younger figures such as Lyra and Ryan appear amid the everyday rhythms of guardians, siblings, and quiet family moments. The ten chapters together trace the long, intimate process by which two female rulers and their intertwined households replace solitary power, laying the enduring foundation for the peace that only dual female governance can maintain in Elyasia.
